In short
Investment advisory helps you decide how to invest: which structure, whether to seek Qualified Investment Project status, whether to locate in a special economic zone or elsewhere, and how to secure the right to use land. We write up the options, trade-offs and risks as an investment memo. It is business advice, not legal or securities advice.
Who it is for
- Corporates and investors preparing a Cambodian project for board or investment committee approval
- Companies weighing incentives against location and timing
- Investors reviewing an acquisition or a local partnership
What you get
- Structuring options with the trade-offs of each
- Incentive fit assessment against the 2021 Law on Investment and its implementing rules
- Site options, including special economic zones and land-access structures, flagged for counsel
- Partner and joint venture considerations
- Risk review covering macro, regulatory and operating risks, and a written investment memo
How it works
- Step 1Scope
The decision, the audience for the memo and the questions to answer.
- Step 2Analysis
Options, incentives, site and risk reviewed against current sources.
- Step 3Counsel input
Legal and tax points reviewed by licensed Cambodian professionals.
- Step 4Memo
A written recommendation and a discussion with your decision-makers.
What we need from you
- Project description, scale and timeline
- Your decision criteria and approval process
- Any term sheets, site details or partner proposals already on the table
What this is not
- Legal, tax or regulated financial advice, or the offer of any securities.
- Guarantees about returns, incentive eligibility or approvals.
Questions
Do you help with Qualified Investment Project applications?
We assess whether the incentives fit your project and coordinate the application with licensed professionals. The Council for the Development of Cambodia decides, and states a registration timeline of 20 working days for eligible projects.
Can you advise on buying land?
We explain the structures that exist, such as long-term leases and strata-title units, and flag the questions for counsel. Foreign ownership of land is restricted in Cambodia; see our guide for the details and sources.
